Rhodes island has its own international airport (Diagoras) with direct flights to London, Manchester and other regional airports in the UK during the tourist season. It also has direct flights to many other European cities during the summer months.

In addition there are several flights each day between Rhodes and Athens, and daily flights to Thessaloniki, Heraklion (Crete) and several other Greek islands.

By Sea
Local ferries from Kamiros Skala
There are several local ferries which run a service between Halki and Kamiros Skala. The journey time is between 45 – 75 minutes depending on which ferry you take.

A taxi from Rhodes airport down the coastal road to Kamiros Skala will take about half an hour. At the harbour side there are several restaurants in which to have a refreshing drink or a meal while waiting for the ferry. Fresh fish is a speciality offered there.

If you are travelling from the UK by plane on a Wednesday we suggest you arrive in Rhodes by about 3.00pm. This means that you should be in good time to catch the late afternoon ferry from Kamiros Skala. Later flight arrival times may mean spending a night on Rhodes.

Other ferry services
The Greek shipping company ANEK Lines runs an excellent ferry service from Piraeus to Rhodes which stops at Halki. Their large ferries have cabins, restaurants and bars, and stop at islands such as Milos, Santorini, Anafi, Crete, Kassos and Karpathos on their way south. The time of the journey from Piraeus to Halki is about 20 hours, which may be rather a large chunk out of your holiday, but an adventure for those with time to spare.

The journey time between Halki and Rhodes is just 2 hours, and this ferry takes you into the main commercial harbour of Rhodes.

Dodekanisos Seaways run fast and efficient catamaran services between Rhodes (Kolona Harbour in Rhodes Town) and Halki, and other islands in the Dodecanese. Their schedule may be found at www.12ne.gr.

Soas Ferries also runs a service in the Dodecanese which links Halki with other islands including Symi. Their website is www.soas.gr.

Blue Star Ferries operate a fast service from Piraeus down to Rhodes which only takes 12 hours. This journey can be made overnight in the comfort of a cabin. Details can be found at www.bluestarferries.gr.
